The US housing downturn dented consumer spending more than had been thought in the third quarter and dragged down economic growth, government figures showed.
美国政府公布的数据显示，美国住宅市场的低迷走势，使第3季度的消费者支出下降幅度高于预期，并拖累美国经济增长。

The economy grew by an annual rate of 2 per cent in the quarter compared with a prior estimate of 2.2 per cent, according to final statistics released on Thursday.
周四公布的最终数据显示，美国第3季度经济增长折合成年率为2%，低于此前预计的2.2%。

The weaker-than-forecast growth was the result of a fall in investment in homes and weaker consumer spending on services, said the Commerce Department.
美国商务部表示，经济增长低于预期的原因在于，房地产投资出现下降以及消费者的服务支出进一步减少。
