　　据香港《文汇报》报道，自传名为《滚雪球：巴菲特和生活中的商机》，曾任保险分析师的作者施罗德，探讨巴菲特如何透过收购被低估的公司而跃升为全球首富之一，关于其缺点的内容，也比其它有关巴菲特书籍的多。 　　施罗德在书中透露，巴菲特在20来岁刚结婚时，无论剪头发、买杂货抑或与人交往，都靠妻子苏珊代劳。施罗德写道：“除了生意，苏珊发现丈夫在生活上的一切都缺乏自信。他从没感受到被爱，她还发觉，他不觉得自己讨人喜欢。”　　书中又披露苏珊为何于1977年离开巴菲特，搬到旧金山。施罗德形容，苏珊致力于小区组织而巴菲特则醉心投资，令二人共处的时间愈来愈少。 　　书中指苏珊以为跟丈夫有共识，他会在储到800万至1000万美元身家时离开投资工作。可惜，二人的身家于1967年达900万美元，巴菲特的投资步伐却没减慢。 　　1977年，苏珊到旧金山探望朋友，因喜爱当地艺术和接近在斯坦福大学读书的小儿子，于是决定在当地买屋定居。她其后回到奥马哈，请朋友门克斯不时代为照顾丈夫，结果，门克斯渐渐变成他的同居女友。1984年，苏珊再次回去，告诉丈夫她搬到旧金山是为了另一个男人。 　　自此，巴菲特埋头在生意上以掩盖这段伤痛，他也没将这不光彩的一页告诉任何人。不过直至苏珊2004年去世前，二人从未离婚。前年巴菲特76岁生日时，才与门克斯秘密结婚。
